About the Program
Business Affairs is now offering a Mentoring Program for our staff members in:
- Financial Management Services
- Office of Research Administration
- Office of the Chief Risk Officer
- CFO’s Office
- Improvement, Analytics and Innovation Services
- Business Affairs Human Resources
Please note that University IT (UIT) has it's own complementary program: https://uitmentoring.stanford.edu.
Similar to UIT’s Mentoring Program, our mentors and mentees will meet once a month over a 6-month timespan to discuss career growth, gain support in their current roles, receive advice on workplace difficulties, and develop both personally and professionally. Mentoring relationships can help improve communication, develop leadership and management qualities, improve preparedness and listening skills, help to learn more about another department or role within Business Affairs, and reinforce knowledge of their own role, among many others.
How mentors and mentees will be paired?
- Fill out an application on the “Become a Mentor/Mentee” tab, and be sure to state whether you’d like to be a mentor, mentee, or both
- Our program facilitators will collect and review the pool of potential mentees and validate that everyone who applied is actually eligible to participate in the program. This validation process may include checking in with managers
- We will announce mentors and mentees pairing in December for a MENTORSU kickoff on January 10, 2019
